Hello, I had spring break last week (3/24-3/31) and it was eventful and sort of interesting. I went into my spring break thinking I wouldn’t be doing much and spend most of my time in my house. Luckily that didn’t happen and I went out of the house, that wasn’t me going to the YMCA. So i’m going to be writing about it right now, so here are the things I did during my spring break.
The beginning weekend of my spring break, had both of the days having events which were my brother’s birthday And my family going out. On Saturday was the day my little brother was born, so it was his birthday, so we had a small dinner party for him. The party was small but nice, the only people who came were close relatives, but it was ok. Having close relatives going to the birth meant I didn’t have to interact with people who I don’t know and make a fool of myself. Sunday was a slow In the morning, but soon we went walking down state street so we can get some fresh air and so my brothers can get some frozen yogurt. When we were at Yogurtland, I decided not to get yogurt, but instead get a smoothie at Blenders. So when my brothers finished their yogurt, we all went to Blenders to get my smoothie, I got tropical mango. Then we went home, stayed up late and went to sleep to end they day.
Monday nothing happen that was eventful enough to write about, but on Tuesday something did happen. On Tuesday, me and my family, besides my dad who was working at the time, decided to go to Solvang to try a restaurant my mom heard about. So we drove off to Solvang to a restaurant I have never heard about, but I was very optimistic about it. We went to the restaurant, I don’t remember the name but it had a nice Danish theme, and we all order our food and waited. We soon got our food, I got a bacon burger because I felt like having one, and it was very good, I would recommend, but I don’t know the name of the place. After we were done, we went to a fudge place to get Carmel apples, then drove back to Santa Barbara where I went to the YMCA, and then spent the rest of the day doing nothing.
Wednesday was another uneventful, but on Thursday I woke up early since I was going to do some community service at the food bank that was closest to me. I went to the food bank where the workers gave me the job of washing some of walls and doors. It sounds easy, but a lot of the marks were really hard to remove and involve some very intense scrubbing. I did this for 5 hours, but when I was done, the workers were impressed of my cleaning skills, and ask me if I could go tomorrow, I accepted since I really needed the hours. When my mom picked me up, me and my brothers went to Ventura to go to the Pacific view mall to eat and to get a gift. We ate at California kitchen pizza where I ate a pizza, no surprise, and walked down the mall to target. On the walk there I notice a few of the shops were closing and I notice the Disney store was no longer their, which was sad, but I saw a new store which had a big Godzilla plush and a Big yoshi plush. We got inside where my mom was trying to find a gift for the party, my brothers were checking out the fortnite stuff, and I checked out the lego and Nintendo stuff. After we got gift, we went straight home and relaxed for the rest of the day.
Friday and Saturday nothing too eventful happen and I don’t remember much on what happen on these days. I can only remember that on Saturday I went back to the food bank to get more community hours. So the total amount of hours I got from the food bank was 7 hours, so I got 53 more hours to do to graduate. Though not a lot hours, it’s a good start and I still have time to finish my hours. On Saturday I don’t remember anything eventful that happened. So I guess that day was another relaxing day for me and most of my family.
On Sunday was my baby cousin’s birthday, which was happening at my cousin’s house, so I brought my Nintendo switch since they ask if I could bring my Nintendo switch. Before we wet to the house, we went out to eat some pizza rev while the car was getting washed, The pizza was good like always. After our lunch we head towards our cousin’s house, with the gift and my Nintendo switch in a messager bag.
When we got to our cousin’s house, we saw that they were remodeling their kitchen and moving some stuff around the house. So because of this, not many people came to party, only relatives that I know. I spent most of time at the party, watching my older cousin playing a game that is called resident evil 4, which is a horror shooter game, and dark soul. Soon I played with him some of the wii games he had, which were on rail shooters. Then me, my cousin, and my brothers played Super smash Bros, but it was cut short when my brothers got angry at me, because I kept beating them, and sayed some things that were very hurtful to me. So after that, my cousin played dark souls again, while I played a game called Doom which my cousin let me borrow. Soon it was time to leave so I took my switch, the Doom game, and another game my cousin let me borrow, and went home to rest and prepare for the anxiety and stress, known as school.
So that was everything that I could remember that happen during my spring break. This week overall was a nice break where I got to relax, get some community hours and meet with my relatives. The party was the best part since I got to connect more with my older cousins, by talking to them, which was really nice and gave me a feeling of happiness. The same feeling of happiness I get when I am part of a conversation with my friends, it’s a nice feeling to get.
